Happy Holiday Season Everyone!
Light is synonymous with hope, celebration, knowledge and goodness. Its symbolism transcends race, religion and culture. Light is inclusive and inviting. This December holiday season, A Better Chance reflects on the light that has brightly emanated this fall from both the young women of ABC of Wilton as well as Wilton community members like you who help to illuminate paths for Scholar success.

The chill in the air did not stop these amazing Scholars from warming the hands and hearts of those living in homelessness in New York City with their kindness and compassion. The Scholars traveled in with the youth group at Wilton Presbyterian Church this past weekend to offer clothing, food and conversation. They were the light to many on a dark and cold night. At the end of the night, with a smile on her face, declared, “I definitely want to come again on the Midnight Run next year.”

A celebration trip into NYC to see Wicked on Broadway was a hit as the school marking term came to an end. A fun experience to culminate the effort and dedication put forth by the Scholars. Work hard, play hard.

Birthdays never go without special acknowledgement! Since the start of the school year sweet Tifany celebrated her sweet 16th and fabulous Chinemerem turned 15! The love was felt all around. A very happy birthday to house cutie pie Milani who turned a big 3 years old!

This November, Sensei Michael Nahan of Kempo Karate in Darien worked consecutive Saturdays with the Scholars on basic self defense. This speaks to the life skill enriching opportunities ABC of Wilton Scholars participate in that will serve them far beyond their educational journey. They all got some great workouts prior to their indoor track season!

Scholar/host family relationships light a path for connection and family experience. This fall brought firsts for the Scholars through visits to Grace Farms in New Canaan, pumpkin carving, ski fittings in preparation for skiing, apple cider making and international friendships!

Continued support to the ABC of Wilton mission shines this season of giving. Thank you all for being the light which allows us to assist more young women in reaching their potential through education and opportunity for almost 30 years. We are truly grateful for the contributions to our Annual Appeal. For those who would still like to contribute, the opportunity remains open.
Recruitment season for 2026 is underway as we look to brighten more futures of ABC of Wilton Scholars!
